WHO WE ARE
STATEWIDE CHALLENGES: In every community throughout Idaho,
critical transportation needs are going unmet.
Continuing population growth and ballooning costs of transportation projects are having
a negative impact on our way of life. Idahoans must find new funding solutions to these transportation needs.
LOCAL PEOPLE: Communities across Idaho have different
transportation and
transit needs.
- Pocatello and Lewiston need new bus stops and bridge repairs.
- Boise, Meridian and Nampa need expanded roadways and
a transit system to meet
the community's needs.
- Post Falls and Idaho Falls need roads resurfaced or expanded.
LOCAL SOLUTIONS: Local people can best solve local needs.
- Local people know what transportation solutions are best for
their community.
- What works for Rexburg may not work for Coeur d'Alene
or McCall.
LOCAL OPTIONS: Idahoans should have the choice to solve their
community challenges.
- Current Idaho law prevents you from choosing transportation
solutions in your
local area.
- Local option sales tax authority enables your community, through a vote of the people, to choose to enhance funding for transportation projects in your region.
REMOVE THE ROADBLOCKS to local choices in transportation improvements!
Contact your legislators!
Ask your state legislators to support local option authority for
transportation funding.
The 2008 Legislature will debate whether to
give you more say in how your transportation needs are met. Tell them you want the option to decide what kind of roads and transit satisfy
your needs. Call 1-800-334-5397 or www.legislature.idaho.gov
